- I'm familiar with olive oil, but what do the milk protein and omega 3 do?
- In the Leave-In Treatment, the milk protein soothes the scalp and guards against itching. In the Really Deep Conditioning Treatment, it acts synergistically with the olive oil to strengthen hair. In the Hair Strengthener it strengthens and gives hair shine. And in the Daily Growth Lotion, the milk protein helps repair and prevent damage.
Omega 3 helps to rebuild, strengthen and protect hair from within.
- Can I use the Daily Growth Lotion when I flat iron my hair? Will flat ironing it make it grow faster with the Daily Growth Lotion?
- While it's okay to use the Daily Growth Lotion with a flat iron, I can't say for certain that it will make your hair grow faster if you flat iron it into the strands. And actually, I would rather you use the Hair Strengthener with the flat iron, because the moisture content is higher, and it delivers more shine when the flat iron is used with it.
- Do you recommend any kind of special diet to make hair grow?
- We don't have a diet that we specifically advocate as a product company, but I thought your question was so good that I researched it with medical professionals and this is what I found.
A diet rich in whole grains that also includes fish, green vegetables, and carrots will help to motivate follicular cell production. Oysters are high in zinc and that helps as well. I can advise you to use the Milk Protein and Olive Oil on your scalp – it will feed your hair follicles.
- When should I use the Leave In-Treatment? Can I use it every day?
- Use the Leave-In Treatment after every shampoo. If you deep condition, you should also use it after rinsing the conditioner from your hair. Using it on extensions and braids keeps them looking fresh.
- I like to keep it natural – what can I use to detangle my hair?
- I would recommend the GroHealthy Strengthening Crème. It will moisturize and detangle your hair before combing. Here's what a friend of mine does: She uses the Strengthener Crème to put her hair into a two-strand twist and the next morning finger-picks the strands out.
- As a Recessionista trying to avoid double purchases, I just want to make sure that these products are safe for my girls aged 6 and 13?
- Great question. Milk Protein and Olive Products are made for adults. Your 13-year-old can use these items if she has entered puberty. However, your 6-year-old should not. One important thing to remember is that adults can use children's products, but children should not use products made for adults.
- I have a problem with frizzy or flyaway hair. What do you recommend for this?
- The Milk and Olive Really Deep Conditioner will moisturize your hair and scalp to alleviate the dryness that can lead to frizziness. Apply Really Deep Conditioning Treatment to freshly shampooed and towel-dried hair. Comb through and let set for 5 to 10 minutes. Rinse well and towel dry. Next, apply Milk and Olive Leave-In Treatment, comb through, and style your hair. Finish with the Milk & Olive Strengthening Crème for frizz-free hair.
- How can I prevent dry hair?
- To minimize the problem, wear a hairstyle that is suited to your texture that needs little to no maintenance and heat. Plus, use the Milk & Olive Three-Layer Growth Oil to establish and maintain proper levels of oil for a healthy scalp.
- What is the best way to condition my hair, and how long should I leave the conditioner on?
- The best way to condition hair is with a conditioning plan.
Deep condition after every relaxer or color treatment. Use the Really Deep Conditioning Treatment on freshly shampooed hair and cover with a plastic cap, with or without a hooded dryer, for 10 minutes.
For regular conditioning, apply Really Deep Conditioning Treatment to freshly shampooed hair and leave on for 5 minutes.
For instant conditioning, leave it on for 1 to 2 minutes.
Make sure to thoroughly rinse all conditioning treatment from your hair. Towel dry, spray Milk Protein & Olive Oil Leave-In Treatment into hair, then comb through and style. For really quick service, you can also do this right after shampooing.
- My mother is Latina and my dad is bi-racial. Can you products help my hair type?
- Like many others with mixed textures, you've probably inherited a little dryness along with those curls. Milk & Olive Three-Layer Growth Oil is the perfect everyday dressing. Start by applying it to the ends and work your way up. then comb with your widest tooth comb. Weekly conditioning with Milk & Olive Really Deep Conditioner will help maintain moisture levels defining curls and adding shine.
- I have a question about my ends that I can't figure out. I wrap my hair and only use heat on it about twice a week, but I have noticed something like burned ends. Is that possible?
- It is not only possible, it is a fact. Your ends are burned. From what I read, you are doing the right thing by wrapping your hair and using minimal heat. The ends are showing the burn after you iron them the second or third time during the week, because all the moisture is squeezed out the hair by sliding the iron down the strand. Sometimes we have a tendency to hold the flat iron on the ends too long.
I suggest putting a touch of Milk Protein and Olive Oil Growth Lotion on the ends of your hair every night before wrapping it to keep them moist. Then secure hair for the night with a wrap cap or satin scarf. Weekly conditioning with Really Deep Conditioner will help too. I would also put a drop or two of the Milk Protein and Olive Oil Three Layer Oil on the ends before flat ironing to seal ends.
